A remodel changes how a building is used, and the electrical system has to change with it. Walls move, equipment changes, lighting gets replaced and new tenants bring new power needs. The wiring behind the old layout rarely fits the new one, and that is where a remodel succeeds or stalls.
C and F Electrical starts every commercial remodel with a walk-through of the existing system. We trace what is there, identify what can be reused, and flag what has to be removed or upgraded before demolition begins. Then we build a plan around your new floor plan, your schedule and your budget, and we stay with the project through final inspection and closeout. If your remodel is part of a new lease, our guide to tenant finish-out electrical covers that process step by step.
Every remodel is different, but most projects include some or all of the following:
Most commercial remodels happen in buildings that are still in use. Customers are shopping, staff are working and tenants next door still need power. C and F Electrical phases the electrical work so the parts of the building that stay open keep running. Planned shutdowns are scheduled with you in advance and kept as short as possible, and temporary power is set up when equipment has to stay online during the changeover.
When a remodel adds equipment or square footage, we check whether the existing service can carry the new load. If it can’t, we plan a commercial electrical panel upgrade into the schedule, so it doesn’t turn into a surprise change order halfway through the job. When the remodel includes new lighting, our commercial LED lighting team can lower your energy use in the same project.

A commercial electrical remodel updates an existing building’s wiring, panels, lighting and power to match a new layout or use. C and F Electrical typically handles make-safe and demolition wiring, circuit reconfiguration, new lighting and controls, equipment power, data pathways, and any service or panel upgrades the new space needs. We also coordinate inspections and closeout so the space is ready to occupy.
Yes. Most of the remodels C and F Electrical completes are in occupied buildings. We phase the work so open areas keep power, schedule planned shutdowns with you in advance, and keep them as short as possible. When equipment has to stay running during the changeover, we set up temporary power so your operations continue.
It depends on what the new space will use. Added equipment, kitchens, HVAC or more square footage can push an older service past its capacity. During the walk-through, C and F Electrical reviews the existing panels and service against the planned load and tells you up front whether an upgrade is needed, so it is in the budget from day one.
A tenant finish-out builds out a space for a new tenant, often from a shell. A remodel updates a space that is already finished and usually already occupied. The electrical work overlaps, but remodels involve more existing wiring to trace, reuse or remove. C and F Electrical handles both. See our tenant finish-out electrical guide for more.
Yes. C and F Electrical works directly for building owners and property managers, and as the electrical subcontractor for general contractors. We can price from your plans, help develop the electrical scope when drawings are not finished, and coordinate our schedule with the other trades so the electrical work never holds up the job.
Yes. C and F Electrical pulls the electrical permits for the remodels we perform, schedules the required inspections, and provides closeout documentation when the work is complete.
